About Us

Unveiled Ukraine is a multi-layered project that combines documentary and artistic photography, video, and personal stories of people from Crimea and Donbas who were forced to leave their homes following the outbreak of Russian aggression in 2014. The author of the project is Kateryna Mostova, a Ukrainian photographer and sociologist.
The goal of the project is to reveal the true face of war: shattered lives, devastated cities, and lost worlds. Through striking visual imagery and authentic testimonies, Unveiled Ukraine opens a dialogue about pain, loss, human rights violations, and the inhumane violence inflicted upon Ukraine. It is a project of memory and truth that deeply resonates with the current Ukrainian reality.
The project was launched in March 2024 and has already been presented in several European countries.

From the author:
The idea for this project came to me in the spring of 2023. However, it might have remained just sketches on paper if not for the support and assistance from the commune of Bissen (Luxembourg). Special thanks to all who helped this project grow: Lyudmyla Melnyk, Aila Asikainen, Simo Pasi, Nadiya Balych, the duo “Belle Bandura,” Georges Lucius, and many others.
Thanks to all who stand with Ukraine!
